During graduate school I wasn’t writing poetry as much as I wanted to. Not only did it consume my time but also my creative energy. There were moments I doubted if I was a “true” writer. My self-concept didn’t match the image I had of other writers. I wondered what it would take for these two things to reconcile. This prompted me to think of myself as a writer in similar iconic poses.

I’m interested in gays social placement in society but also about the physical locations of where we have received harm. I think we are a thriving culture of sorts but don’t think that we have been positioned for success. I created blueprints of the locations where violence against GLBT persons has been committed.
